Here is two of the 8 watermelons that grew after the ducks and chickens got to the garden. You might notice i planted these just in piled up leaves. Theres no soil added.

Here is one of three raised boxes i made to fit some old windows that were giving to me. I like them because i can start seeds in them and keep the windows over them tell seeds pop out of ground. This one are radishes i planted. Theres another with mustard spinach and the third i planted lettuce but i was no i dont know why but none of it grew. I placed these on top of big leaf pile and added soil hoping the leaves under would help keep moisture for less watering. So far works good.

Here is our poor peppers i grew them in just leaves as well but something has been just eating them up. I need to find a organic pest killer for garden next year.

Here is one of three beefsteak tomatoes. What i did here is dug hole filled with leaves then planted tomatoes filled in with soil and covered with straw.

Now this little guys is my favorite animal on our homestead this is my ayam cemani. Iam hoping to work with this breed and help get the word out about these wonderful birds. If you have not seen these before they are also known as the goth chicken. They have all black meat and organs. These are a rare breed that is not part of the US American poultry association and there is no US standard of perfection.
We have more chickens also that include beared silver lace polish and blue copper marans.
Thank you for taking the time to check this out and see you in the next blog. @rockybrookfarm

Yeah that would great to be added thank

I've had good success growing melons in leaf piles with a touch of soil added. They seem to do better if the leaves are in the shade and the vies climb out inti the sun.

Cool my first time worked good if the chickens would just left them alone. Thanks

I always love vegetable garden with different plants on it. Actually, we have few veggie plants but I grow them in pots because we don't have enough space.
