Living in Luxury Off The Grid - Bathing in a Winter Wonderland!
I made myself a snowball,
as perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet
and let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas
and a pillow for it’s head.
Then last night it ran away,
but first - it wet the bed.

If it's zero degrees outside today and it's going to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be????
... it’s something to ponder when showering outside in the middle of winter because your shower is leaking!
Late in the fall one year I was in the kitchen when I felt a drop of rain hit my head. I looked up and found a big bubble on the ceiling... a water balloon waiting to drop.
It took some time to break up the tile and cement floor in our shower but replacing the custom-shaped shower pan and getting the right slope on the cement in the shower floor was by far the worst.
In the meantime, with that being the only place to bathe in the house, showers on the deck got pretty nippy! I did get something from the experience... now I knowI'm never going to be joining the polar bear club!
You gotta be kidding. Outside shower in Winter. Nice to be young.
I'll pass on that particular experience happening again. We're working on putting an addition onto the house. It will have another shower/bathtub in it!
Ohhh...poor you!! I've actually been in your shoes. We bought a house with no residents for 8 years and horrible pipes. We spent all our money buying the house and the pipes broke after we moved in. First summer the toilet broke so we spent 3 months using a make-shift outhouse in the woods (I was pregnant and it was so hot outside!). Got that fixed. This fall the bathtub pipes broke. I did some bathing out in a tub under the carport. It was pretty chilly some nights and the hot water made lots of steam. Kind of fun but got old quick.
I so empathize! Not just the inconvenience but to add insult to injury the evil wicked bill for the repairs. It must have been painful paying for that while you were expecting and had all those expenses coming up!
