Winterizing the Tropical Fruit Trees
Here is the tree from further away with a pepper cage around it.
After that I raked up some pine needles an filled up the cage, compacted it down and filled it up again, repeated until no more pine needles would fit.
The beans( behind the cage ) also died during the frost.
To finish off the project, I found an old piece of vinyl wrap laying around. I double folded this, put it over the top of the cage and then tied it to the cage with a string.
This is how we also plan on winterizing our banana tree.

STOPI've never seen that technique for winterizing plants. I'll have to remember that in the future.
