Those look amazing. I love a bit of fermentation with spices. Hehe, I like the preparation for the tasting!!

Maybe it was the gin, but these pickles did seem to have a lot more flavor than the ones made with plain vinegar. I think I might rewrite my will so that my heirs can have me fermented and marinated in gin.

Haha, yes, gin is probably the key!

AWESOME that it worked out! Now you have a new recipe to use for years to come.

Fermenting is such a new technique for me but I am enjoying getting to expand my knowledge.

I had to laugh when I saw the picture of the gin and tonic... at least it worked up your courage to sample your new creation!

Now I need to convince Rebecca to try them. She might go for it if I drain them very well to reduce the slime and present them on a plate without any of the cloudy brine.

It might also help if I make her an Unencumbered - it is a new cocktail that we tried at a restaurant in Staunton. Gin, cucumber, mint, and ice. Served strained into a martini glass garnished with a cucumber slice. There may have been a few drops of lime juice in there, too. It was excellent.

Nice one!
I've never tried fermented Okra before. I do grow my own Okra too so I might give it a try at next season if I get to grow more plants.
