Summer Foraging Taupo - Yellow Plums
Plum season is here again. But our freezer is still full of plums from last season.
Good thing the Chickens like plums.
And so does the little Pirate.

Our plums are almost ready too
We have been trying to eat through those in the freezer. And drink all of the cordial we made. And the jam. But last year we harvested 50-60kg of plums. Maybe even more. Plums grow very well around Taupo. Wild trees on the hills and every other garden has a bounty of fruit. Sadly most people just let it all fall and rot then buy some fresh plums from the shop out of season.
How hard is it to grown plums from their seeds? Would it be feasible to grow and sell the saplings?
Not very hard at all. You can also grow from cuttings or by grafting onto another tree. By the end of today I will make a post on the subject. We have a variety of plum saplings of various ages and varieties.
I'll be looking forward to reading that!
