It's Done....Finally.
Hooray, we finally got the hory deck finished* after too many rain day delays.
Total cost = roughly $220NZD
That is about $160USD or £116GBP
*Well the bulk of it is finished. After the Yurt is up the black plastic at the front will be covered by the (to be built) veranda for afternoon tea and socialite socialising.
Are they old pallets? Brilliant idea
Yes. We got about 40 or 50 pallets of various types and sizes. The bottom layer we left them intact. The top layer we split them down to minimise gaps. Plastic and screws and a little bit of petrol is all we spent money on. :) We shall see how long it lasts. A few years at least and we will be happy.
The mix in weathering on the boards is really beautiful. Are you going to give it a little wood oil to increase longevity and bring out the wood colors and grain?
No. We are going to cover it in Yurt, carpet and AirBnB'ers.
