Pegging Sticks in my 'Ugwu' farm

in #homesteading6 years ago

My pumpkin leaf farm is doing well and we decided to build a shade for it and strengthen the poles so that it can do very well. We cleared the weeds that was going around it and pegged the sticks, crossed them to create a shade that can carry its strength when it eventually starts to produce pods. 20180930_103657-1.jpg The water supply of the farm still comes from the waste water of the fish pond and of course rainfall. We expect to complete the shade later today and tie the leafs to the sticks so that they walk their growth on it.

During the dry season, the price of the leaf is very high and the need is relatively higher. So farms who have plenty of it make plenty of money. At that time too, it will also cover for vegetable needs for the farmer and his household. In any way it is looked out, whether for sales or eating or both, it is a profittable win-win situation.

There are times when just a few leafs will cost so much and you will start asking questions. At those times, you can even blame the President of Nigeria for the price but in reality, it is just a farmer's foresight and plan manifesting.20180930_103712-1.jpg

Its a farm affair, I am loving it and living it!
