Sprouting is Simple & Nutritious: Here's What We've Grown In Just 3 Days. Learn One Of The Best Ways To Get Started With Reducing External Food Dependency
Many of you will know that my wife and I are in to prepping. We like to be self sufficient as much as possible and enjoy learning new ways to grow food and make our lives resilient in a variety of dimensions.
Recently my wife did a short video covering some of our seeds that we have in storage and we thought it would be useful to show how easily the seeds can be sprouted for consumption.
In this video we display the use of our three tier sprout apparatus and demonstrate how easy it is to produce a simple and nutritious source of food on your kitchen bench.
Often people can be prohibited in terms of space and cannot grow a garden... sprouting is perfect in such circumstances!
There's lots of tips and information in the video and we hope you get something out of it. Constructive comments welcome as always. Enjoy!
Thank you for the video. I was always curious about sprouting and the system and process. I am an avid gardener and typically garden in Canada all year round outdoors but this looks easy enough to try this winter. Upvoted and following.
Thanks so much @gardengirlcanada. We've done an earlier video on some of the seeds we store for sprouting and in that video we show the box that our sprouting tray came in which may help you find something similar to try. Best of luck with your growing and sprouting!
Its amazing what the human mind can fathom.
Sprouting in this manner is simply revolutionary. I have never seen it done like this before. Truly we learn things everyday if only we will just open our minds to learn...
Thank you steemit for making it possible for great minds to come together here and share knowledge!
steem on!
So true @abasinkanga and I completely agree. Thanks so much for the comment!
Sure mahn! Thanks for your post!
No worries at all
Didn't realize you could sprout them from the packet, have a few packets of chickpeas, could you do the same with lentils?
That sprout apparatus looks very niffy.
Hi @biglipsmama, yes you can sprout almost anything. We've done lentils before. Works well. Good way to get something established prior to planting into the ground too. We've done that with corn to give them a head start.
Thanks for the comment 😊
After sprouting them would you eat them or plant them, sorry this is all new.
That's the beauty, you can do either! No need to apologise, sharing useful knowledge is what this community is about!
That's is a beauty! Will have to look in further to sprouting, Thank you for answering
Pleasure @biglipsmama. In fact with all the questions we may post a follow up video showing how we sprout sunflower seeds for our horses. A different approach still! Stay tuned.
That sounds interesting, didn't know horses ate sunflower seeds, learning alot already.
👍
Thanks for explaining some of the basics for sprouting. Growing like this is a great way to start and develop some Independence when it comes to food! Will be trying this at home.
A pleasure @nztrader. They're simple tips but need to be earned through trial and error. Glad you got value from it!

MUY BUENOS CONSEJOS , ME GUSTO TU POST
Wow my first spanish reply. Thank you @juanpe2012!
I also have never seem sprouting done this way. But after watching your video it is truly remarkable. I love to read and gardening and herbs are one of my top genre choices but I have to say watch the video was so much better. Great explanation!
I'm very happy that you got value from it @goldendawne and thanks for the feedback. We can determine what to film next based on what people say they find useful. We are looking to show 3 days worth of sunflower seed sprouting that we sometimes do for our horses. Bigger quantities and different technique so stay tuned!
Thanks again!
