Weekly Chicken Gazette Issue #8🐓
Welcome to this weeks version of @mother2chicks "Fuss & Feathers" Weekly Chicken Gazette Issue #8, albeit an abbreviated version. I say abbreviated because it feels like we are staring down the barrel of a loaded gun. The gun is named Irma and it's less then 2 days away. We are as prepared as we can be at this point.
It's been quite this week and not a lot to report on the girls. I took these photos just this morning.
We have plenty of chicken feed stored in the shed.
I bought them some "scratch" at the feed store up the road. Believe it or not they still let their customers run a "tab." It's a great family run kind of place.
I also purchased grit and calcium for the girls.
Their egg count has been good this past week with several days of all hens laying a egg. Such good girls!
I hope they will be ok through the storm, the coop is sturdy and fortified as best it can be at this point.
Next weeks Chicken Gazette (#9) will be a full version, been pressed for time this past week. Thanks for looking and see you next time...

The chicks are looking good, @mother2chicks! I'm sure they'll feel safer in their fortified coop. Glad to hear they're laying well this week. It's so lovely how you think ahead for their welfare as well as for the other animals in your orbit 😊😊

Hugs back at you. Fortified the chicken coop even more today. Even ol Googley eyes approved and then ran off to the Cafe Risqué for a "good time"😉
She was seen there during the worse of the hurricane, blamed the loss of clothing on the wind. Tssk tssk

Thought I saw her unmentionables (boulder holders) flying past the French doors at the height of the storm. Now your comment confirms my worst fear-Googley eyes has been missing her pastoral care appointments! She will use any excuse to engage in illicit activities including hurricanes.😉
Careful, she's trying to drive your ladies astray as well. Heard through the grapevine she's been seen trolloping with those FEMA boys.....
