Adding a Vegetable Garden

If you have read my blog, you would know we grow many fruits and vegetables already. But I had a fellow steemians Rod @doccrypto. He brought me some seeds, so I am in the process of making a new garden spot.

The topsoil here is very rich and about 16 - 20 inches deep. I believe it is because of all of the coconut trees that are always giving back to the soil.

The seeds @doccrypto brought me were split between a mutual Pastor friend and mysielf. This is why they are in plastic baggies. We will also plant some of the seeds outside of the new garden as he also brought some Papaya seeds. So far my 30 plus papaya trees are all volunteers. I didn’t plant them, but I will gladly eat the fruit.

Sounds great! If you have any advice on getting good tomatoes to grow here, I would be grateful.

you are very blessed!

Thank you! I am! Is your screen name a reference to John the Baptist? I live in the Philippines, but I am also from Virginia.

cool! it is in part a John the Baptist reference, part Steve Miller Band reference, part prayerful intention that the locust trees make my bees lots of early honey this year cause they need it bad. thanks for asking! how long have you been expat?

My wife and I are full time missionaries in the Philippines. It will be 4 years in June. Loving preaching the good news and advancing the Kingdom! One day I would love to have a hive or two here!
