--- In House Grow Corner ---
Today we started setting up our grow corner inside the house, we have always had it there, but it has been just a bunch of plants randomly assigned to the area for aesthetics and some experimentation with new/exotic plants to see if the will take in our climate.
As its coming into winter, where we are, we want to try growing some out of season veg inside as well as herbs and spices... so we wanted to vamp this area up and make full use of it, so this is what we did with it.
this was the bookshelf section of a desk which has been kicking around the house for quite a long time, it is most famous for collecting garbage on its shelves so we were going to throw it out.... but then... BING!!! light bulb moment, these could make a great stand for plants in the grow corner.
A few slices with a circular saw and we have three pot plant stands which are the perfect height to sit against the window in the growing corner. After a clean up and dust off they were ready to be put into action.
And here is the final product the grow corner nice and neat with some herbs and veg coming to life just how we like it ;) what we have in the corner so far ? oregano, basil, parsley, rosemary, stevia, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage.

You gotta love those light bulb moments, for me, it usually happens about 3 days after I thrown the thing away... lol but love the new space, it's a great improvement
thanks for the comment :) Yeah i get that sometimes too... so i usually rattle the brain a bunch before tossing stuff out... but the other extreme is hording and no one wants that right ;)
Well lets hope that we get some good yield from this little experiment, if not im sure i can find some other planst that will take to the environment we are providing :)
well, no-one wants hording but that's where I always seem to end up anyway lol. But I swear, I can hold onto something for years and never find a use for it but then 3 days after it's gone... SHM.
its a fine line... but sooner or later you get the 'sweet spot' just keep them cogs spinning, lolz

Very cool I’m doing this in my bedroom this week, that’s the plan anyway. But hoping to just purify the air and get some life in the room. Aloe, mothers in law tongue etc

Yeah that is what we were using the area for before setting it up for edibles, we got the mother in law tongue in the middle of the stands there is also Venus flytraps and others aesthetic plants... im a little OCD so i like when things look nice and neat.... and as uniform as possible ;)
make sure you throw up some images when you get done with your set up
