Surprise!

We have brown-layers. They started laying small eggs then eventually got bigger. Eggs for any time of the day is always welcome. Especially if they are organic, soy-free and free-ranged.

One day, while making lunch, I cracked an egg and was surprised to see this!

Do I keep on going? or crack another one?

I don't have a comprehensive eggcyclopedia so I consult Mr. DuckDuckGo

Occasionally found on an egg yolk. These tiny spots do not indicate a fertilized egg. Instead, they are caused by the rupture of a blood vessel on the yolk surface during formation of the egg or by a similar accident in the wall of the oviduct.

What a relief!

I keep looking and most of the articles are saying the same thing - no biggie, you can eat it.

Eat it or not?

I say eat it if they're just blood spots. Not sunny side up but maybe scrambled. Or sunny side up but take the spot away.

We had another egg this week that was real bloody, we chunked it.

   slow down - busy - slow down again then busy for winter prep

2. Family and Health
   new baby = new schedule - yeah that includes Daylight Freaking Savings Time
   sickness - we just got spanked 2 weeks ago with a stomach bug

3. 9-5 to my 9-2
   I'm still working for the corporation and working to get out of it. Working to get out of the regular 9-5 is something we need to work hard at.
