Revisiting the Camp Cabin!

So I am in the process of continuing my camp cabin build over the next few weeks. I am covering the outer walls, which are in desperate need of attention, and finishing out the interior.

Of course, this is all with time, and weather constraints. I have finished the back door. I think it came out pretty good considering I have never built a door till now. Here are the steps in the door build:

So today, I headed to HD to do some shopping for stain, and a few other things. Tomorrow I hope to sand, and stain the back door for mounting on Sunday afternoon, weather permitting.

While I was at HD, I also picked up some things for an additional project for the camp cabin. I am turning the bottom of an old china cabinet into a rustic sink, and counter space for the cabin. We will be tiling the top, putting in a drain through one drawer, and adding a washtub as the sink. I went, and purchased the tile today. I already have the drain, and tub.

The wash tub will make this sink counter very rustic, and beautiful too, I think. The sink will only be plumbed out, not in. I will be using 5 gallon water bottles for water, until we decide to drill a well.

I am also going to clean the cabinet up, and hinge the drawer fronts on the drain side, so I can still store dish towels, and rags in that space. The other side will be a utensil drawer for silverware, and other kitchen utensils. The drawer, and door pulls are worn out, and dated, so I am updating them.

Other projects are putting up tar paper on exterior, finishing sealing the roof, laying, and staining the floor covering, insulating, covering the interior ceiling, and walls, installing the stove, and sink, building the couch/bed, making the mattress, installing shelving, and decor, and outfitting the camp cabin for use.
