Garden Changes.
Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed. Walt Whitman
It feels so good to walk in my garden again, I have found so much has changed. The new season has arrived, turning my Japanese maples bright red and the apple is starting to shed its leaves and turn a vibrant yellow.
They were all bright green when I left for steemfest, and magically while I was away they transformed into their bright fall selves. Celebrating the year and life they had before the winter slumber.
My wild bed of chaos, the experiment of high density gardening had gotten out of control in my absence. Some of the plants where doing awesome, some choked out completely. The poor wala wala onions where sad and depleted, But funny enough the potatoes where not harming the Brussel sprouts or cauliflowers at all. Everyone said you couldn't grow anything with potatoes. This opens up a opportunity to grow a lot of high calorie food in a small space. Making self sufficiency more attainable for small spaces. I will be moving my chamomile plant out of the bed of chaos, she is a plant of calm.
Broccoli are cranking out food, so excited. I love Broccoli.
Even thought the winter is fast approaching and the fall is here, the garden still has some flowers. The Bees are grateful for the flowers that are left. The garden has become a sanctuary for them.
Long live the salvias, great providers for the gardens Bees.
The sweet stevia blooming with every ounce of its might.
Even the Habanero was blooming.
My tobacco plant was planted late in the season so I didn't get a chance to get very big. It is in full bloom now and I plan on harvesting the seeds and planting earlier next year.
This borage was a wild start and has protected my tomatoes all season and fed the Bees. I love this plant, I am so glad it decided to grace my garden this year.
This bed is planted with companion plants and is the newest bed. It doubled its size since I had been away. I was excited to see its progress. It is so dramatic when you leave for a few weeks. Watching it every day you don't get to see how fast it grows. It just all registers as normal, until you look at old pictures.
I had a wonderful time traveling, but if feels so amazing to be home and gardening again. It has started to rain, the soft sweet rain. The mornings are heavy with thick mist, and when you look at the redwood trees early in the morning you can see the mist feeding them. The fall slows us down, reminds us to rest and celebrate the wonderful summer we had.

i just love..it..i have a aslo a garden
I love gardening. It is such a part of a happy life, being with the plants, hands in soil, eating what you grown, arranging flowers you planted as seed. Wonderful.
If you ever run out of content, I would love to learn more about companion plants. I like your observations about Borage and potatoes. I would not normally plant those in with veggies.
We did the same thing. Haha
I use stevia all the time ( the powder version) so it's cool you are growing the real deal :)
What a GREAT surprise to come home to after SteemFest!
Everything seems to be flourishing and looks so healthy.
This should be a gardener's motto
holy moly girls got a green thumb. that is a future dream for me, to walk and tender for my plants with ella who already does that with my mum at her garden. i can totally see me and dayle doing something similar in the future but you seem to have the gift, so relaxing to work in a garden, i used to always sit next to my granddad in his hot house while he tended to the tomatoes who grew from spanish seeds -- i'd like to get into hydroponics and led growing too. .. because technology.. . lol..
Your garden still looks like it's thriving considering the time of year. I LOVE acers. I almost lost mine as I planted it into the garden and it was just too windy and it got wind scorched. Dug it up and potted it last year and it's sooo much better now.
Great post. :D
Beautiful garden, lots of fresh produce. :)
Absolutely love your garden. Looking at it reminds me how much I miss having my own garden and can't wait go to back to it. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy your posts so I'm following.
