Seed Starting Soil with BioChar / Started Brassicas
What is BioChar?
Biochar: A solid material obtained from thermochemical conversion of biomass in an oxygen-limited environment. Biochar can be used for a range of applications as an agent for soil improvement, improved resource use efficiency, remediation and/or protection against particular environmental pollution and as an avenue for greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation. In addition, to be recognized as biochar, the material has to pass a number of material property definitions that relate both to its value and its safety.

Biochar is something I definitely want to try making at some point. Did you make your own char?
Hello. Yes, my husband and I made our own char. It was fairly easy, just had a few bumps at the beginning of the process but so worth it.
If you have a bunch of brush lying around, you should most definitely make your own char. Let me know if you ever do make your own char!
Will do, we will have a bunch of extra brush and trees after this summer. We have to clear some trees for a house build. ☺️
