Thanks! Yes, busy little bees here! Haha. I haven't ordered from HSCO yet because I just recently found out about them. I'm going to look through for my next seed order which will be soon. What is the discord?
The discord is where we meet and talk and scheme :) we'd love to have you there.

I get catalogs from Burpee, Baker Creek, and Johnny's selected, awesome seed varieties offered from them. And MIGardner makes some awesome youtube videos for gardening. this winter I need to go and prep the garden to start it back up next year, didn't do anything this year. I like the idea of growing more varieties of plants, but, my mother is a "If it's not like what's at the store, I don't want to grow it" type of person, so there's a conflict there. Plus, my mother tends to just give the harvest to the animals.
I've seen plenty of squash, tomatoes, beans, and peppers I've wanted to grow in the catalogs, just a hassle to get them, when every penny tends to be accounted for.
Another thing is fruit, and nut, trees, they may take some time to bear, but, it's better to get sooner, than later. Some of them are pretty early bearers too.
I'm going to check out the other seed providers you've listed, that I've not come across before.
Could you grow something in a pot for just yourself? Like your favorite pepper? That might help resolve the conflict. As for winter prep, consider Winter Rye, Sweet Loraine Fava Beans, or Australian Winter Peas. All are great for soil fixing, keeps the garden going, and great for animal fodder.
As for nut trees, so far we only have 2 chestnut trees we just planted this year. My goal is to plant a few pecans and hazelnuts as well. I had hoped to do that by the end of this year....it still may happen. Fall is an okay time to plant them.
Thanks for checking us out!! Feel free to follow! We'd love to hear more from you. :)
