After Storm Garden Pictures

in #homesteading5 years ago (edited)

So we had quite the storm here in NC. It got a bit hectic for a short moment there but it has passed and thankfully Kindred Acres is unscathed. Once the storm passed I walked the gardens and couldn't help but to take some photos. A hummingbird zipped over to get some nectar from a flower but before I could capture her photo she zipped off. Take a look at just a few of the photos I captured. The garden brings me such joy. :)

We have added more flowers this year for the pollinator and more still to come! These bring me such joy. The pictures don't do them justice....they are much prettier in person.

I love chive flowers. They are so pretty. :)

When the Sweet Loraine Fava Beans first started blooming they had a blush pink tint to them inside these white flowers with a kiss of black. They were so gorgeous. The pink blush color has gone but the flowers are still so pretty.

Strawberries are setting runners. I plan to root them. :)

I love this section. So pretty how everything is coming together. Once the rest of the stuff comes up it will be so nice.

Red Veined Sorrel is so pretty. Tasty too. We add it to our salads.

Potatoes are doing well. These are Kennebec but we have a variety in the ground right now.

White Yarrow is such a pretty whispy plant. Have I mentioned how much I love this plant?? Check out our prior post about it for more info on its use. It's a must-have herb for homesteaders.

The butterfly bush is happy here.... a little TOO happy. I'll need to be sure to get it under control soon before it spreads out of control. Exciting and pretty though.

The comfrey is also very happy.

This is part of the tea garden....it's coming back to life. It will be getting a revamp this season. Adding, changing, shifting...

Kaliah's Fairy Garden is looking amazing. She has done such a great job tending to it.

I was so worried about our young apple trees in this storm but they both look great.
IMG_20190419_192910.jpg

My favorite plum tree is still lush and pretty....undisturbed by the wind.

The storm we had last week sadly destroyed our greenhouse. We lost a LOT of starter plants. I was able to salvage some and start more. They hunkered down in the gazebo during the storm. Looks like they faired just fine.

Our potted plants/trees also hunkered down in the gazebo and look great.
