So this actually brought tears to my eyes. I'm so glad you chose to move to the country and embrace this lifestyle that gives you more time with family, more time with nature. I live in the country, but not on a homestead, and my partner works out of town. We hardly ever see him. I'm grateful to be able to raise my children without putting them in daycare, but the trade-off of money for time is so difficult. Still, I take time to appreciate the quiet of living above a lake, the snow that paints everything white, the warmth of my woodstove, and the strength it gives me to haul firewood in each day and feed the fire. Being grateful for what we have and the choices we've made is such a beautiful practice. So glad I saw this post. :)
