I hate rabbits!!!

image I normally put guards around my fruit tree's to keep them from getting girdled by the cute fury plague known as the rabbit. This one is in my my front yard. A yard that is fenced and has my boxer, and beagle mix in it much of the day. I thought proximity the door and random dog patrols would be enough to deter the cute plaque. Lesson learned. No place is safe! Hopefully, a sucker will come from root so I can graft it next year. It is rough to loose a tree that I planted 2 years ago. I did get some revenge with my .22 last night. As planting season nears, I really need to thin out the bunnies, or my garden will turn into more rabbits.image

Those buggers can sure do some damage. Deer too.

You might want to try making some of Sepp Holzers bone sauce. It works well in Oklahoma keeping deer and rabbits off the trees.

I have never heard of bone sauce, going to have to look this up!

Making some bone sauce has been on my to do list for years. I need to make some sence I am running out of room and need to start planting in my pasture.

That's gotta be frustrating! At least you get some rabbit to eat! That's a different sort of garden harvest! :D

No rabbit for me. I give them to my dogs.

Haha the little critters sure can be a pain sometimes in gardening.

We just had a few across the back of our property the other day; I know there are an abundance of them here, and I am dreading their presence come spring and gardening time. They wreaked havoc on some of my flowers and other herbs last year.

I did not know they eat herbs.

They loved my oregano and parsley! The little vermin! LOL
I actually caught one munching on my parsley one morning last year

That rabbit did some damage. That is so frustrating. I bet it felt good to pull the trigger on that little bugger.

Sorry my friend but at least you got one, sounds like 20 more to go until spring hits, then hundreds!

I got another one tonight. I have a happy LGDs.

Oh my I know exactly how you feel. We have a neighbor who feeds stray cats. These cats are always in our yard prowling around so we thought the fruit trees closest to our house would be okay without any protection. One day a few weeks after planting a horror scene unfolded in our yard! 6 trees/bushes were snipped, gnawed, and chewed on!!!! We learned our lesson the hard way. And we haven't even been able to get any revenge (despite many evenings of my husband sitting quietly waiting for one to appear)

In Australia people bow hunt feral cats. I am sure that's a criminal act in most places. Never understand how people let pets roam the world and just accept all the havoc they bring. image

Feral cats are worthless! We have a big problem with voles digging up and burrowing in our freshly planted gardens. They ruined a blueberry bush one year. You would think the presence of the cats would deter them. We also have a sweet little blue bird couple that has a nest every year. I was LIVID when I saw a dead blue bird on my door step one day over the summer. I'm sure one of the cats got him :(

I hate that. I am not big on cats, I am allergic to them.
