The purple ones are carrots as well :-) All of the veggies we grow in our garden are old breed - the will grow seeds that can be used in the next season... most of today's veggies found in the store are hybrid or gmo - none of them can grow seeds for the next generation... this is a big topic - to much for a comment, but maybe you got curious and investigat a bit yourself ;-) btw. the purple carrots are really tasty ;-) Cheers to you from the Seven Mountains in Germany
