We had a small aquaponics system in our basement for about 2 years but were disappointed about two things. One the fish tank has to be pretty big for the talapia to get large enough to eat. And the second was that while our chard and lettuce and other leafy greens took off, we didn't have much luck with fruiting vegetables. The room is on to new uses now but was a fun experiment while it lasted.
