Taking Down the Cherry Tree
This has been a very slow process, but when the opportunity arises, we begin chopping up more branches and sticks. Today my two little ones helped me clean up the yard from sticks and branches. Part one is here.
My big helpers! They want to grow up to be big strong men who work with their father. I informed them they can be big strong women instead.
I Got an Extra Knotch in My Man Card
There was one big branch I wanted to get down today. Rather than grabbing the tree chain saw, I used my trusty hatchet. It was a hack job for sure.
Girls were at a safe distance for this part!
If you can excuse the shaky camera, I filmed the "Timber" moment.
The Sap is Beautiful Amber and White
The branch at the end of this limb has a lot of sap weeping from it. It seems to glow in the sunlight.

howdy today this fine Sunday @ironshield! hey if you have a fireplace those sappy branches make great fire starters. those limbs are tough aren't they? that thing didn't want to come down. those kids are impossibly cute man! I know you know that, just sayin. God bless you all!
I bet that sap burns well... although I've been collecting them. They're really pretty, like gemstones. The cherry wood was surprisingly soft, but that last bit would not let go!

I hope you make some wood chips for grilling! That'll make using a hatchet entirely worth it (plus the notch in the man card..haha)
