The Sheep - New MaaMaas

A couple of weeks ago, the same day we lost our dog Merle, a set of twin lambs were born. Not long after that another set was born. Then another just a day or two later! Three sets of twins and me holding down the fort alone. Thankfully none of their mothers rejected them and they are all doing just fine. Enjoy this series of photos of our new babies!

That's all for now. The lambs were 2 days old and one set was just born when I took these. Seeing new life helped us cope with Merle's passing. I'm grateful for that.

They are adorable! I am so sorry about Merle. Hugs from me.

Thanks, @melinda010100. He was one of my closest buddies. I'm definitely missing him.

Sounds like you have been having some rough days. Know that I am sending love and hugs and if you ever need anything at all I am here for you. And I mean it. Anything.

That's a lotta twins! What breed are the sheep?

They are a breed of "hair" sheep. They don't have wool. They have hair that gets shed every spring. Some of them are still shedding and that's why they look like they have dreadlocks. Haha!

Well, well! I just learned something!!

Look at those sweet babies! I love the one with a brown spot on its rump!

@corrielaine

Two of our dogs, Hank and his brother Merle (who we lost recently) both had brown spots on their rumps like that. These were born the same day Merle passed. It's only fitting to name one Merle.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog That is not easy but glad the birth of the lambs is uplifting Lovely to be surrounded by animals

Thank you, @trudereed. It has been hard but the other dogs and such keep me occupied so it is okay. Thank you!

You just doubled your income with all of those new babies. Some of the mothers are just huge. Congrats! 🐓🐓

They're actually my Father in law's sheep so he will get most of the profit. We got our property fenced and a shelter built in exchange for letting him use our land. And when he sold Rama-lama-ding-dong, we got to keep the money from him. Not as exciting as you would think. Haha!

You have such a great sense of humor. Rama -lama -ding-dong! LMAO! Maybe he would sell you a female to get started. My friend down the street let’s his daughter about 10 years old take care of the sheep and she in turn makes the money when they are sold. Mostly, I think they are just lawn mowers. 🐓🐓

We will see. I don't really know what his plans are for everything. He barely even looked at them when he visited this last time so I don't see it going far.
