Waiting for Cows

We were supposed to have the cows arrive on Wednesday. Because we didn’t want to mow the grass for the broiler chicks, we waited for them to arrive.

By Friday there was no telling when they would come, so my husband mowed a small area and set up the hoophouse coop.

Saturday morning we moved the chicks into it. We use a huge old lawnmower box for moving them. We do have transport cages, but the darkness of the box keeps them calmer.

In fact, they don’t want to leave it. They try to get back in.

They aren’t at all sure they like this green stuff….

But then they discover there’s bugs and cool stuff and soon they are zooming all around the hoophouse.

Tomorrow morning the fun begins. We have to move the coop to a clean area, and they’ve never done it before…
