We made our first butter on Friday from 2 gallons of cream. The cows started on pasture earlier in the week, so this is the prime time to make butter.
We will make butter every Friday until the end of June, aiming for 50# for the freezer. The first batch yielded 7¾ lbs from 2 gallons of cream.

ah that's so awesome! congrats!! :)
Nothing better than real butter you make yourself with milk from your cows.
Yes, the raw cream butter made with cream from the first grass is the most nutritious.
But these are not our cows, but Sidehill Farm's Normandy/Jerseys. They have worked for several years building the nutrient density of their pastures and this is the very best organic raw milk and cream in our area.
