Around The Barn And More
The tall weeds and grass around the barn is just too much. No one like to see weeds and grass this tall. Unless it is along the woods or maybe the edge of a big field.
I always want the building to be neat looking. It isn't always possible with so much to do though.
Here is an example. Ugly
Here is some progress.
I see these rascals sometimes, when I am around tall weeds and grass.
I think people call them "praying mantis" or something like that.
They eat other bugs. So, while they may not be pretty. They do serve a function.
They can fly a little too. So I don't kill them if they behave. Ha
The sign of finished work for the moment. Time to take a little breather.
If this is to be the burn pile. I have some work to do.
Now we can see the burn area. That is much better. We don't want the fire to spread out of the border area that is set up for burning.
The limbs that were cut up before must be moved to the fire pile area.
Now that is better. The cut limbs are now on the fire pile. We may add a little more to this pile while we wait for some rain. I am thinking of adding the "thorn tree" to this burn pile. The thorn tree is green and it would take a hot fire to burn it.
Green wood doesn't burn very well. But, with enough heat. It will burn.
It is time to put the cutting tools up. That is enough work for this day.
I thought I could hear some thunder in the distance now.
That is the signal for me to get ready to burn.
Thank you for following along with me as I work to try to make the land look a little better.
I had seen another what? Oh no. Another thorn tree. I just have to get rid of them. Ugh
And thank you for your upvote. I really appreciate it.

Francis, this is a very interesting photo. I see that all paid attention to this mantis. Very good shot! We have a summer cottage we mowed the grass in the same way. This mower is familiar to me. I even tried several times to do this work. Need some skill. Thank you for Your interesting story!!!
it sure is true. after retirement you're more busy than when you were working. keep up the good work!
