Tacking Rugs Down
Our buddy Ralph is having trouble walking on the wood floors. And our rugs don’t stay put when the dogs and cats try to run etc…
So we decided we need to tack them down somehow without destroying the wood floors or buying and installing carpet. This is what we did…
Originally Addie tried the gripper cloth stuff which was a total fail. The brown material underneath the carpet steps.
Then we agreed to get the good stuff.
First we cleaned the stairs by sweeping and mopping them…
Then grabbed the scissors, tape, carpet strips and got to work…
And this is what we finished the stairs with,
A much neater and more effective approach.
Then we moved on to the hallway runners. We video recorded this one:
looks good.
Our cats had much the same problem when we moved into our new house with laminate floors. The apartment we'd left had carpet. They used their claws for traction. On laminate the pads on their feet work MUCH better. It took them a while to learn that.
If was fun (for me) while it lasted. Now they're just boring cats again.
yep same here. we just bought 2 fish tanks for the cats. that blog coming soon...
Fish Tanks for cats.
That's new.
well they kind of demanded we get them fish tanks since they are now being forced into indoor only life. they were very interested in the setting up of the living room tank. as soon as the water is ready we will get the fish and post the blog of the tank setup and new fish.
oh. so the fish tank is a video game for your cats?
it is a real fish tank to keep them occupied with something to watch.
Yay for Ralph having his traction back! Older dogs with hip issues have a terrible time when their feet slide out from under them especially in the rear. Ralph will be back to dog burnouts in no time!
:) he cant wait as kyle keeps beating him to the door lol...
