Finally Some Pictures Post Hurricane Irma!

Things in our little area are slowly coming back to normal level. Schools are open tomorrow, everyone's power is supposed to be back on by midnight tonight (Sunday 9-17), and the stores and gas stations are getting their inventory back up.
I have some pictures from around the farm, but first I'd like to show you the plight of my daughter's best friends family. They live in a subdivision that has security fencing all around because they are mini-farms with livestock. So there's only one way to get in and out, and here it is 8 days after Irma:

They've called all the appropriate people who passed them along to someone else. They've Facebooked the county commisioners and everyone seems to want to fight about property lines and city/county right of ways. Meanwhile, that is a 15 YEAR OLD GIRL IN A JON BOAT, driving over the flooded road and maybe power lines, GOING TO GET ICE FOR HER FAMILY AND NEIGHBORS!! Trust me when I say that the group of people who are showing up tomorrow at the county offices to fight for these trapped families are ANGRY. Gladly, they got power back last night.

So anyway, here's a few pictures of our ponds that are nicely full now. 10 days ago they were beginning to dry up (silver lining yay!) The fallen tree hit our barn, but we are taking that building down anyway as the roof is very bad as well as some of the supporting posts. The scary one is the tree right next to the fallen one that is only being held up by a root.

@blocktrades. Thank you so much! I am without words, certainly we appreciate your kind gesture, it means so much! (Now I have to learn how to use blocktrades-to-bitpay..)

wow! shelves totally empty.. great pics! thx for sharing :)

So glad y'all made it through safe! I was moved to tears when you first posted before the storm came. I actually talked about it in my vlog of preparing for the storm. I was looking for updates from you all the way through it all! Hope you can get back to normal soon! Oh and congratulations on a @blocktrades upvote! You deserve and need it!

Wow! I am floored! Thank you for your concern and interest, we really dodged a very large bullet. Still eyeing those other storms, but it looks like they are heading mostly out to sea (hoping so hard!) And the blocktrades vote...I am speechless...hugs to you and I'm glad you were there in thought💗

Hopefully the rebuilding of the neighborhood and farms go well. It might make sense to move some dirt to create a higher spot of land that wouldn't get flooded in the future. It might take truckloads of rocks and dirt, but in the long run it might be a safe place to park Park cars or if it's big enough to tie up livestock on the next storm.

I am hoping they will put in a culvert to drain that area. The mosquitoes are starting to get bad there. Our friends who got flooded are one county over and its a rich county. In fact many celebrities live there. If my friends dont get what they need, I will be lighting up some famous peoples Facebooks and Twitter...

thx for the insights! wishing you all the best from Germany!
