As you all know, i am a farmer and i rear pigs, goats, turkeys and chickens. Recently i decided to purchase a day old broiler. This is the first time i am doing this though. I have never tried to rear a day old chick before.

This time i decided not to take them to the farm. They are going to need intensive care and i am not going to be able to give them the care if they are far away from me, considering the fact that i no longer go to the farm everyday.

Preparing A Place For Them

I had to make a difficult decision between keeping them downstairs outside the house or upstairs inside the house. The reason is that people around here will steal anything they can they lay their hands on. There was a time i was rearing 2 rats and before two weeks they stole them already. lol. I dont want someone to reap what they did not sow. Now i will have to accommodate whatever odour or discomfort that brings me. My family members will understand though.

I had to clear a small space for them, an area where we put old stuffs.

I Fixed A Bulb For Them So My Babies Wont Get Cold

I Mixed Their Water With Vitamins

Also Got Them A Bag of Broiler Starter

They can eat as much as they want. As long as they grow very fat and they dont die
