Exactly. And for the small farmer or homesteader, those dual purpose breeds are actually better. Otherwise you've got to have a dairy cow and some steers, for example. There's also the argument that we're selective breeding things so much and taking it to the extreme that if something goes horribly wrong, there'd be no other heritage breeds to fall back on.
