Cherry Tree Timber!

in #homesteading6 years ago

Every now and then you can expect the unexpected on the homestead. Today we awoke to this, a large portion of one of our Cherry trees lying on the ground. As you can see it had fallen from high, fortunately we were not under it at the time!

It appears this branch had been rotting, and after a little rain and wind could hold on no more.

Sadly it had an abundance of fruit that would have been ripening soon had this not happened.

Time to clean up. Using a chainsaw made reasonably quick work of dismantling this massive limb. Of course steel toed shoes, hearing and eye protection ensured safety during the process.

Once all the debris had been piled up all that was left was this one large log that we will use to border a new garden something like what we've done here.

In our Province there are strict burning regulations so we check to make sure we're in compliance and then we begin burning. It's a family affair as you can see. All we were missing was a few wieners and a long stick!
It wasn't long before the fire was burning well, and not long after that it was pretty much just embers.

Exceptional rules and compliance. In this case, a lot happens or is the opposite of my place. Sssttt! ^_^

Have a wonderful day, my friend.

Many thanks!

My friend Brimax how are you? nature gives us unexpected surprises this tree was maybe very old hurts for its load of fruit that was lost, so is life with good and bad things the good that you were not close.
you had a lot of work but with that good tool everything went very well and in a short time they were able to burn the rubble
The trunks very useful for the new garden that good
In the video is Candy and Anis seeing how the flames consume the debris please greetings for them
I love your farm is very big and they have a lot of nature and you take care of her very well together with
the beautiful Candy

Greetings and happy day to all

We all appreciate your comments and support, thank you.

Brother, how are you? before leaving do my things happened to say hello
how is your wife? How is Candy?
Wow that tree was bad inside so it is the nature that good that they were away from it, the chainsaw was very helpful and I see that you use everything you need to do a good job, I regret the fruit that did not mature but that's what nature with its unpredictable things
Will they have a new garden? wow sure you will show it to us, I would like to have a farm too and be there some days to rest from the stress of the city you are very lucky
I send you many blessings brother greetings to all of me

Many things are unpredictable as was the case with this tree. One thing we can predict is that if you believe, and work toward having your own farm, it will happen!

Thank you brother for your words

Hello friend Brimax, I hope you are all well, I am sad when a tree falls, when you have daily contact on the farm, you are fond of everything that helps us in our environment, here those regulations of the felling of trees exist but not met, the heartless of the government cut down the trees eliminating our plant lungs, regardless of the benefit they give us, I liked the video and see that you act fast to put order in the farm, which is really a great paradise, what we had the opportunity to have a farm we know the importance and love of the land, and when good harvests are achieved the moral reward that we have is satisfactory, I congratulate you for that farm so beautiful and full of life also to your team, my congratulations on the video are very watchful and making company greetings to your wife and Candy, receive a great greeting in the distance from Venezuela @brimax friend

It is nice to know others understand the importance of trees in our Eco system. It can be unfortunate if your government is just cutting down the lungs of your country.
Thank you @perlanacarada, we appreciate all the support we receive from our friends in Venezuela.

Friend I very grateful with your great support, and excellent videos, that show us that with dedication and tenacity. we can build a better community, and a simple but very effective lifestyle, if we do not change the mentality that everything is given away we will continue to be a poor country, thanks on behalf of all Venezuelans who in one way or another have their support, @brimax

Hi, how are you? very sad what happened with your cherry tree if it was very big that real tree were very lucky that you were not close and did not have anything near that tree

Good thing they could finish that quick work with the chainsaw they are fast they do a great job

In the end they are right it was necessary to roast something in that fire

Good day

Perhaps the next time we need to burn some fallen trees we'll have something to roast ready to go!

Lastima que ese arbol frutal se derrumbara por que por lo que pude ver en el video tenia Cerezas, están disfrutando de un excelente clima en Canadá @brimax y tienes un gran jardin. Saludos

It is a pity to loose such a great number of cherries to a single rotten limb.

Nice work my brother and you make it seem so quickly done but I know it takes a bit of time and labor to get er' done!

You know I get er' done the easy way....I just speed up the video. That way I get to take a nap sooner!

Haha! :)

¡Hermano! Pensé que ya no tendríamos noticias tuyas. No sabía que te mudabas? ¿A Chile?

It is a shame to lose a tree with a lot of cherry trees and in this way, so surprising, maybe he was in his last days and could hardly stand. This type of things usually happens from time to time and it only remains to look for some utility, such as the creation of the garden (the result was very beautiful the truth). Hopefully this kind of thing does not show up again and all the trees remain firm, prosperous and solid.

We'll keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again, thanks.

I really like the way you did everything so perfectly step by step. I think its better to stay away from those big and aged trees, when its windy, especially children.

Thank you, and an excellent point regarding large trees and children!
