We buy all ours. Our land is really hilly and not the best for bailing hay. Right now good alfalfa is going for $220 a ton. But mostly just horse people buy it around here. We feed fescue and clover hay which is around $90 a ton

Grass alfalfa mix is pretty popular here for the cold months. We have mostly all meadow grass that we bailed. We traded labor for some millet and some alfalfa.
We are researching trying to decide what to plant next spring for our operation.

That is exciting. It is always nice when you can trade for things
