Morning Chores!!!
My favorite part of the day lately has been the morning chores. I hop on the 4-wheeler and go out and check all the livestock. All the goats are done kidding and the spring cow herd is also done calving. I am just out checking to make sure everyone is happy and healthy.
It makes me smile when I see a baby calf nursing on its mama or a group of kid goats running and jumping. The morning air is cool and refreshing. It is just so peaceful to get out and be still and watch the animals. We have been having some wonderful rain showers almost everyday and the grass is lush and the livestock are all happy.
This Farmer feels like he is doing something right when all the animals are happy and healthy. I am so blessed to get to do what I love every day here on the farm. Five years ago I was an auditor trapped in a cubicle and now I feel like I am free and living the dream here on the farm. Just want to encourage anyone reading this. If you are not happy with your career or job and have a dream of doing something different. Get out and pursue that dream. It took alot of blood sweat and tears to become a full time farmer. But I can honestly say it was worth it.
So get out work hard and pursue your dreams because we only have one life to live and you are living it right now!
I really envy you. I'm where you were 5yrs ago....stuck in a corporate cubicle. Working hard on changing that. This is what hangs in my cube to remind me what I'm working towards.

Kudos to you for living your dream. Dreams aren't handed out on silver platters. It takes work and diligence. I would never know that you are a first-generation farmer! A farmer's blood runs deep in your veins!
