Making Air Crete and building with Air Crete!
Ever heard of Air Crete? No, do not feel bad, lots of people have not heard of it. It is a popular building material in Germany and Europe. I think the reason most people in the U.S. have not heard of it is because it is not what people are used to building with here. Most of the time the planning and zoning in the U.S. frown on it is because of their lack of knowledge on this way of building. It is the same way with things like earth bag houses, straw bale houses and other forms of non-conventional building techniques.
Here on our homestead we will be building with it. I will be putting up videos of the journey from how to make the Air Crete to how to build with it. We will go through the electrical and plumbing and everything in between.

There are several advantages to building with this material.
It is waterproof, It is fireproof, it will not burn, It is very light and you can cut it with wood working tools. It also serves as a thermal mass to keep you warm or cool whatever is needed at the time.
As we go along you will be how it is made and the equipment to make it with, which is not really expensive.

I wasn't sure if it goes by the same name here in the UK. But I've found this UK website about it : http://www.aircrete.co.uk/
Definitely going to try this out next time we have a suitable project here.

Try it, but be warned it can be addictive. lol
As soon as the rain will let up we will start on this journey. We are in the south and the tropical storm is dumping some rain on us right now.
