Here in the upper great lakes region, fall tends to become the rainy season. All the plants here are preparing to go dormant for the winter. We're starting to see the maple leaves change colors now, along with a lot of the other trees and bushes.
Yeah, the leaves are changing color here too but I'm also noticing young plants putting on some new growth and new seedlings come up. On older plants I see the formation of next year's buds. I love seeing life responding to the changes in the season. Each area will be different but often there is a time where the temp is still warm enough that along with the extra moisture there will be new growth. In colder areas this time will be shorter and earlier likely in late summer instead of what the calendar marks as fall.
