How to Plant Celery Leaves in the Pot or Polybag

in #homesteading6 years ago

Hello Steemian!

On this occasion, I will discuss on how to grow celery in the pot. did you know what it is celery? celery is one of vegetables a very popular in Indonesia, celery usually be used as a vegetable additional or complementary in vegetable soup, so many also mentions celery as leaves soup. in addition to be used as complementary cuisine, it turns out celery also have the benefit for health.

Some of the benefits of celery such as :

— Cholesterol Decrease
— Treating Cough
— Dry Eye Drug
— For Anemia
— Treat Rheumatism
— Hair Fertilizer

If you often consume or use celery leaves as a complement to cooking, maybe you can try to grow your own celery at home. Well on this occasion I will share about how to plant celery in polybag / pot. Planting and planting celery is also easy, you can plant celery from the seeds / celery seeds, or can also use the usual celery buy in the market or vegetable seller (celery that still have roots).

To plant celery there are several tools and materials that you need to provide, namely :

— Seeds of celery
— Pot / polybag
— Soil media
— Fertilizers

For soil media I used to use a mixture of soil + manure / compost with a ratio of 1: 1: 1. Surely you can use another mixture or maybe buy ready-made soil media that is sold in many farm shops. For pot you use bigger better of course.

If you plant celery using the rest of the celery bought in the market or in the vegetable carp, my friend can directly plant the part of the bonggol that is still rooted, but if my friend planted celery from seeds / seeds, what my friend should do is to spread the seeds of celery to the media already prepared in pots or polybags, why in the sow? because the seeds / celery seeds are very small in size. If it is in the lid of the lid or heap with media thinly, then do watering with spray to evenly. Next put pot / polybag containing celery seedlings in the shade, get sunlight but not directly exposed to sunlight. Perform watering regularly to prevent the media from drying out.

If the celery seedlings are a bit big, just like the picture above, you can move it to another pot / polybag (1 tree per pot).

Next buddy just stay doing the treatment of watering and fertilizing on a regular basis.
And finished our discussion on how to grow Celery in Pot / Polybag. May be useful for you all.

Thanks you and see you

WOW I didn't realise that celery was so good for you and so easy to grow. I'll give it a try.

Good try @macchum. Good luck and your harvest will be nice.

This looks like flat leaf parsley or even coriander.

I'd love to see your mature plants to get a better idea of the species you're discussing here.

Good write up.

All the best,
Nick
