Yes this made of steel. There are different steel types in the 10XX series commonly used in knife making depending on the carbon content. 1080 like this blade is on the harder side. Something like 1040 is softer but tougher/more durable; 1090 is harder but potentially more brittle.
10xx series is great brother.
