Today is the day of the week that I do my weekly HOLLER OUT to other homesteading steemians who have influenced me, offered support or made a post that really spoke to me. Last week you may remember I had a featured homesteader, as well as the three other homesteaders.

New to steemit this Kentucky farmer has a wealth of information to share with the homesteading community. He even brought his wife (@thefarmerswife) to the platform. In his introductory post he shares pictures of his beautiful family and his beliefs.

My family is just a family that is trying our best to be productive members of society and raise our children the best way we know how. God has blessed us with an amazing farm and we are excited to share our journey on this farm with you all. More than that though we have been so amazed at the wonderful community of people from all around the world who have communicated with us on Steemit.

In one of their recent posts, @armadillocreek talks about their most valuable asset.

We have only moved here in August of this year to the farm, before that we lived in Colorado. When we made the choice to try this life out, we started collecting things we may need. We were making average wages in Denver but with the high cost of living, money was always tight. Our best option there was good ol craigslist. Going through the free stuff category and house clearances we were able to find alot of what we needed to flesh out the portable cabin we bought. Just about every place we went had another thing to check off the list.

Now here is a lady after my own heart! She made a post yesterday about making melt and pour soaps and I too, had just made my first batch.

I'm on a quest to make as many things homemade as I can. I'm almost out of store-bought soap, so this one was up for grabs!
I've been searching around a lot lately for a good homemade soap recipe. I initially wanted to make my soap from scratch. I knew lye can be made from wood ash, and while we have plenty of that, I didn't want to go that far!
