Homeschooling At The Homestead

in #homeschool5 years ago

We are a homeschooling homestead here at Kindred Acres. Today was a fun-filled day of learning and play.

We worked on geography (equator, prime meridian, latitude and longitude lines, different hemispheres, looked at the globe and map and mapped a few things out), a biography on Harriet Tubman (we are prepping for our field trip to see the movie when it comes out in theaters), Science experiments (we made homemade slime and then we added vinegar to see how the slime would react - they were in shock at how it made the slime get very warm to the touch and fizzy), math, and play. Fun stuff!!! And of course some 'chill' time.

What was your homeschool day like today?? Leave us a comment to let us know you were here and share some homeschool ideas!!

Great work it always so positive to see good homeschooling examples. Children being given a topic then sent to research it is a great way to expand knowledge 💯🐒

Aww Thanks!! We have fun with homeschool. It helps that my little loves to learn. She just soaks up all the knowledge. :)

Because there is no pressure and it's fun and not repetitive 💯🐒

Yes exactly! And we don't do a bunch all at once. We do a lesson then a break then a lesson then a break. I find it is easier to get her to focus when we do short bursts. Kids aren't meant to sit still for lengthy periods of time and if you make them, they aren't going to retain as much information and are more inclined to get distracted, bored, frustrated, etc. I absolutely love that we are blessed to be able to homeschool.

This is it and the reason i'm sure we have invented this ADS stuff as kids just need to runaround and then are trouble makers for doing so. The results would be ten fold for society if we changed our schooling process 💯🐒
