RE: Why I Decided To Homeschool My Kids
Impressive @janmarini! We have just started homeschooling this school year and I'd say so far, so good. We have to adjust a lot on timings, esp that I work full time but hey we're homeschooling so we can be flexible!😉
And, the drugs thing was very alarming! That was what I was telling friends and family when I sad we'd homeschool. We are not sacrificing socialization of the child, but instead just putting him together with peers who can influence him positively.😊
That’s right! Since we homeschooled, my kids improved so much in their social skills; for they learned not only to deal with people their age but also with younger and more mature people. Socialization is not limited to a school set-up only. As the primary caregiver of our children, we have the responsiblity to educate them to choose the people who will have an influence on them. As they grow older, they themselves will learn to make wise choices when in comes to building relationships with people. :)
Aaaannnd that “druggie” kid? I had no physical evidence, hence, we chose to stay quiet. It’s hard to accuse a minor without a hard proof. School administrators must be very vigilant.
