How to Clean Pinch-Pleated Drapes

The best approach is to use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment at a lower suction setting or by opening a vent valve on the suction hose.

Here are the steps to maintain pinch pleat velvet curtains:

Release the tiebacks on the curtains and draw them closed.

Plug in and turn on the vacuum cleaner.

Starting at the top end, gently vacuum along and between the pinch pleats using a scrubbing motion. Ensure all dust is removed. Use a step stool for hard-to-reach areas.

Work your way from top to bottom, focusing on one section at a time and maneuvering the wand through the pleats and folds.

After vacuuming, turn off the machine and spot-clean any soiled areas by gently rubbing with a damp cloth.
