We Did It Ukiah!
Homeless Resource Center Gets Approved
During the Wednesday July 26th City Planning Meeting, the use permit was approved for a community center to serve the homeless population of Ukiah, and assuming the greater Mendocino County once word gets around. I'm proud of m community in this moment. I was not surprised to see so many at the over 3 hour meeting showing their support for the plan and the love we have for people in need.
The plan I heard from the RCS (Redwood Community Services) meeting, and these are the owners and managers of the resource center just approved, gives a timeline of November 1st to open the Winter Shelter and January 1st of 2018 for the full day center of resources to be operational. Very exciting!
We're praying the renovations go smoothly
The renovations include adding covered entryways, a sitting area and fencing, as well as a parking lot and community garden. The motorcycle shop within the building will remain.
I will email out an update if any major changes occur, for now I will just reiterate the mission and status of Sharing Society as an organization.
We could really use volunteers to show the disadvantaged community that their city cares; anything you'd like to help out with, be creative. We are looking for someone to takeover the Saturday clothing drive (collecting donations, organizing and distributing to the homeless). Please use the contact email below to coordinate if you're interested.
If you're ready to volunteer in any way, we could get you a SharingSociety.org placard for your car door to show off the spirit of sharing and caring! Price would be $20 to $35 and we can help you accommodate to whatever your needs are.
Remember, SharingSociety.org is still on the groundfloor. Our plan is to make this a decentralized mass social movement and we're working intensely with learning how to solve the problems of community and bring a user-friendly experience to charity as well as buy/sell/trade/give/find social services in local economies.

T-Shirts!
We can do white and ash grey currently. We can alter the design as you like. Price we recommend is $20 per shirt though we can go cheaper in bulk or accommodate near any price you can afford, and of course the more you'd want to pay would go straight to donate to help the homeless in Ukiah, CA
Sharing Society's ultimate goal is not to provide handouts but to build and connect local communities, recycle/reuse and facilitate person to person exchange of 2nd hand goods.
