Ikea is really good at clean lines and products that are able to be used every day without damage. Too often you can get nice furniture that you are afraid to use often only because it is hard to clean!
Colors or not, definitely go for the most comfortable sofa and chairs you can find! You'll learn to avoid you living room if you can't sit in it for an hour without needing to get up and move!
