Immanentizing the Eschaton

Why did Oprah receive the Cecil B DeMille Award in January 2018? Apart from finding the right cult of personality to rival Trump, Hollywood's celebrity elite class sought the most evangelical among them to deliver a sermon – before a congregation dressed in mourning black – that would absolve them of their guilt after the revelations of 2017 and thus restore the moral high ground. You could see the catharsis wash over them while immanentizing the eschaton. Lol – bunch of freaks.
