Possible Holiday Tech Spree

Staying at home this winter is going to be the only choice we have this year and with some luck, some well-deserved rest and shopping might happen around the holidays. It might feel like this entire year has felt like one long extended holiday of nothing but season sales are coming and tech products continue to release and see discounts too. As the gusty winds and perhaps even snow storms arrive, we are going to be treated to a number of tech sales including Black Friday, Cyber Monday and more around the Christmas and New Year periods.

So am I excited? Well it’s hard to be excited about anything this year but after having looked through recent 11-11 sales, we could see a wave of ‘good’ deals. I haven’t seen a jaw dropping spree of sales for a few years. Perhaps the best reduction in price was a few years back during Amazon’s prime day sale. In the wake of black Friday, another sale had to make its own presence known and Bezos corp. did a great job in attracting a spending spree with tremendous tech discounts and more. But a few years after yielded pretty mediocre sales and I might relegate it to the same as the hype dying off for Black Friday.

Now with a pandemic looming over our heads, I have to wonder if companies will be looking to move certain stock and recoup losses in one form or another. The Chinese singles day, 11-11 gained some traction this year with discounts across aliexpress but with COVID hanging around, perhaps domestic options are a better option. Black Friday hits at the end of this month and will be telling as to just how much the retail sector is being squeezed or its desperation to gain custom.
