Who's Satoshi Again? Hodlnaut vs Wright
As the newest wave of Satoshi claims stirs up Wright's self-importance in a battle to claim the title of Bitcoin's Creator, we must ask ourselves if this is still even possible, let alone important?
First of all, Bitcoin Cash, despite the split, is still not number 1...and likely never will be. Simply becuse Wright claims he is Satoshi doesn't make it true. Even though claims of 'ireffutable' evidence have been made enough to trick a laywer or two, doesn't mean that the rest of us buy it. If anything Hal Finnley was Satoshi, and is now of course deceased, forever obscuring the truth. A simple way to settle this is for Wright to move some BTC from one of the early 'whale' wallets thought to belong to Satoshi during the creation and early years of the network. Yet despite this obvious solution that requires just a little extra time, Wright still has yet to do it. Anyone can copy and paste the opensource code for BTC, fork it, mess with it, etc, and claim to be Satoshi. Extrordinary claims require the proof to back it Craig Wright, and without evidence that is publically verifiable, all your talk is just that, a claim. You make the claim, you have the proof of burden. 'I shit gold eggs out every morning and since you don't believe me I'm suing' is the mentality in Camp Craig.
Secondly, who cares? So what if he acutlly is Satoshi? He's a dumbass for publically anouncing it as most developed nations consider the creation of a rougue currency a felony-equivalent crime with some pretty heafty punishements attached if found guilty. Don't write a check with your mouth you can't cash Craig. If he wants to spout out his claim as Satoshi he will likely go to jail as Satoshi; there was a reason the Github account was masked after all, and stopped activity once the US feds started poking around...which on that note only Hal was known to be living in the US at the time of creation.
Ultimately the market will decide which BTC varient is the true child of Satoshi, and so far it's not a Bitcoin Cash varient, but the core code classic we all know and love/hate.
