Second turn of HODLER infrastructure overload tests - important information
We would like to convey everything about our tests in detail.
On 7PM GMT+2, 9th Nov 2018 we will publish a single zip archive with backup files for 81 wallets (including passwords). Each wallet will have a balance of $20. Backups will come in three forms:
HODLER Secure Backup – a zip archive that has to be imported by clicking Add Account >> Restore from HODLER Secure Backup, and typing the provided password to decrypt the backup. After that you should transfer the bitcoins from the restored backup to your own bitcoin address that you control.
Encrypted QR Code Backup – a PNG file containing an encrypted seed. To open it, click Add Account >> Restore from HODLER Encrypted Seed QR, then scan the QR code and type in the password provided with the backup file. After that you should transfer the bitcoins from the restored backup to your own bitcoin address that you control.
Bitcoin private key – click New coin >> Bitcoin, then fill in the “Description” field (type in “Bitcoin2” or something else), type in a new password, and select “Import from Private Key”. After that you should transfer the bitcoins from the restored backup to your own bitcoin address that you control.
The goal of this test is to cause maximum traffic on the HODLER.TECH servers that will lead to their failure, to check if the the auto-repair systems will work, and how fast will they deal with a DDOS attack. This means that people participating in the tests should expect the application to be unresponsive or working slower at times, having problems synchronizing the balance and showing unupdated balance, displaying error messages or shutting down.
Our actions will be limited to receiving error reports and observing how the infrastructure and the anti-overload systems react. In the event of a critical malfunction our team will start to repair the servers manually which can take an undefined amount of time.
If you will want to report an error during the tests, write in our Telegram group. Your suggestions and observations will be added to the report we will publish after the tests.
