Origami Flexagon/Napkin holder
Start with the omega star unit by Philip Shen
See previous post if you get stuck on this part.
To make the napkin holder turn the unit over and fold the sides of the boat shape into the centre making a little house on each side.
Fold five units.
Construction:
Open up the walls of one of the houses and slide the next unit inside stop once it gets to the triangle part of the house. Close the walls of the house around the second unit and fold the joined section in half horizontally locking the two units.
To complete the model bring the first unit around in a circle to meet the last and lock the unit in the same way.
Happy folding, Grace.
Thats a very clever idea, practical origami is awesome, I'll try this tomorrow :)
Post a picture and I'll send you 0.2SBD :) Paper size for a napkin would be 5x5 cm
Was sliding out a bit so I folded in the corners, still works like a flexagon ^^ very fun model
Excellent. I love the addition of the little triangles.
Thanks :D
Is this right?
Spot on. Try to evenly push the edges in towards the centre to make it invert. If you find it undoing when you handle it try what @ivan-g has done with creating little triangles. I love the paper choice.
Thank you :) I tried with the @ivan-g's triangles. Looks much neater :)
