Sunil is a junk dealer in the busy town of Colombo. His main profession is collecting old books and papers from house to house and reselling them to whole sale dealers.
One day Sunil was sorting an old book pile; his assistant Ravi was helping him.
Ravi told Sunil, "Boss, this book is old but too heavy; in which pile am I throwing this?"
“Give it to me; I will check,” Sunil said and flipped the pages. His eyes widen with surprise. “Wait! What is this?” He pulled out a thick bundle of foreign currency hidden in pages.
Ravi was also shocked and said, "What?! Money? This is not Sri Lankan currency, isn’t it?
“No, it seems like US dollars... and a lot of it,” Sunil said, making his eyes little. Next, both looked at each other, realizing the seriousness of the situation.
"What shall we do now, boss? shall we keep them?" Ravi asked from his boss.
"No, no! this can be stolen money. Or the owner must have died. First, we must find the owner." Sunil responded.
They carefully checked the book and found a name written inside. It was Mr. Perera.
"Hmm.. This name is familiar to me; he was the one who sold a box of books last week," Ravi said.
'Yes, that must be the man," Sunil said.
In the afternoon, Sunil and Ravi went to meet that person.
"Sir, are you Mr. Perera?" Sunil questioned the man.
"Yes," Mr. Perera responded.
"Do you remember that you sold me some books last week? Again, Sunil asked.
"Yes, it was my son. That time I was cleaning the house. Why?" Mr. Perera asked, astonished.
"We found something inside one of your books." Showing the bundle of currency, Sunil said.
When Mr. Perera saw the money, his eyes filled with tears.
"Oh, my God, this is my brother's savings. He worked abroad and hidden this money in the books before he died. I completely forgot about that." Mr. Perera told it with shock.
"Then this belongs to you," giving back the money Sunil said.
Mr. Perera took that money, shaking hands, and said, "Thank you, son; you are an honest man. This money will help us to get rid from these grievances."
Looking at all silently, Ravi said, "Boss, you did the right thing."
Sunil smiled and proudly said, "Honesty always pays, Ravi.

Yes, I feel better now. Thaks a lot.
My friend, Sunil, the character in your story, showed honesty and returned the money to Mr. Perera.
And I liked Sunil's saying "Honesty always pays , Ravi".
All the best.
