What are the most common bad habits we adopt in childhood?

Actually, in childhood, we are not disciplined from the very beginning. Perhaps, only those elite children who study in expensive schools or whose parents are well educated and love discipline are able to avoid bad habits. Otherwise, no one stops or reprimands most of the children for their bad habits in childhood. Due to which they become victims of these bad habits. Among these, the main habits are like eating toffees and chocolates, keeping study bags and personal belongings here and there haphazardly. Sleeping in the clothes of the day while sleeping at night. Apart from this, some children keep picking their nose, sucking their thumb, biting their nails with dentures, avoiding cleaning or washing hands after coming from school or playground. There are many such habits which harm their physical health.

Tell me if you have any bad oral habits and how did you adopt them.

I had a bad habit when I became an adult. What happened was that a friend from my college gave me the example of one of her friends and said that the friend looks very smart when he smokes, you should also smoke and you will look even smarter. And then to impress the girl, I also started smoking. Later it became such an addiction that I became a chain smoker and I was able to leave this bad habit with great difficulty after 40 years.

How can we eliminate these bad habits?

The bad habits of childhood can be got rid of by the teachers and parents by explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the children with love and by counseling them. But there is a story of how I left my bad habit.

One of my officers was much younger than me, and because of his respect for me, he used to come to my chamber himself instead of calling me to his office, but whenever he came, he used to complain that my room smelled of cigarettes, and he was troubled by this smell of smoke. He requested me to quit smoking, I paid heed to his words and stopped smoking in my room from that day onwards and whenever I felt the urge to smoke, I went out to the field and started smoking, this reduced the number of my cigarettes, then getting up and going out would hamper my work, so I quit smoking.

How can we avoid falling into these bad habits?

We should avoid bad habits by taking care of our health from the very beginning, for this we need very strong will power. We should not adopt any bad habit by getting provoked by someone, we should not adopt any bad habit by imitating others. We should not do any such work which has adverse effect on our health. Even if we have to do something like this, we should not turn it into a habit. For this, we should always keep our mind under control. If someone gets addicted to a bad habit once, then he will have a lot of difficulty in leaving that habit.
